Have the Divine Will take possesion of me,
Enrapture my heart to enclose it in the Will of God.

"I want to love as you love and do as you want me to do"
Come Divine Will Come to rule on us

O Glorious Archangel St. Michael, Prince of the heavenly host, be our defense in the terrible warfare which we carry on against principalities and powers, against the rulers of this world of darkness, spirits of evil. Come to the aid of man, whom God created immortal, made in his own image and likeness, and redeemed at a great price from the tyranny of the devil.

"God always takes care of His creatures, but He does it through our hands. If any person dies of hunger or pain, it is not because God didn't take care of him or her. It is because we didn’t do enough to help, we didn’t show ourselves as instruments of His love, we didn’t recognize His face under the appearance of that abandoned or ill adult or child

IN MEMORIAM - His Excellency Monsignor Julio Sánchez G.

IN MEMORIAM - His Excellency Monsignor Julio Sánchez G.
September 18th 1924 - January 13th 2009

Monsignor Julio Sánchez, was a very important person for the Community of Totus Tuus because he was one of our first spiritual directors. Monsignor Sánchez was the Prior and founder of the Emilio Valenzuela School in Bogotá, where the director of the Secular Association Totus Tuus studied.

“Well done, my good servant!”

He was ordained as a priest on 9TH October 1949 in Rome. He was the Vicar Co-operator in the Parish of Santa Barbara (1952), Theology Professor at The Major Seminary of the Archdiocese of Bogotá (1952-1961), Chaplain of The Third Order Sisters (1954), Chaplain of the Gimnasio Moderno School (1954-1959), President of The Archdiocesan Secretariat of Defense of Faith (1957), Co-operator Vicar of the Porciúncula Parish (1959) and Chaplain of The Marymount School (1965-1969).  For more than 30 years, Monsignor Sánchez was simultaneously Pastor of Santa Bibiana’s Parish and Head Master of the Emilio Valenzuela School.  On 15th March 2000, The Holy Father John Paul II named him prelate of Honor, which was a special recognition for his sense of communion with the Church, for his testimony as a preacher of catholic values within different educational institutions and for the affection that he always professed to the clergy of the Archdiocese.

He professed a very special devotion to Jesus in the Blessed Sacrament (Totus Tuus Chapel, 8th December 2007).

The 5th of May 2008, he joined us in the dedication of The Totus Tuus Chapel in La Calera (Colombia).  Even though we were 3000 ms above the sea level, he accompanied us without the oxygen tank that he always used.  During these years, Monsignor helped us in our retreat house in La Calera: he never needed his oxygen tank there.

It was a very special day for him.  Despite his physical limitations, he was always faithful to God until the last moment.

As the Head Master of the Emilio Valenzuela School, he gave us all his support in the different events and activities we organized at this School.

His great love to God and Virgin Mary was reflected in the youth, in which he always believed.

The day Monsignor Sánchez went to the Father’s House, the Archbishop of Bogotá, D.C., as well as many Bishops and more than 30 priests offered a special tribute to this faithful servant of God.

It was a moment full of happiness, since Monsignor went to Heaven after having completed his mission.
It was a moment of sadness: we will all miss him very much.

We will always keep him in our hearts and in our memories; we will always laugh remembering the good sense of humor that always characterized him.

 Rest in peace,
“Well done, my good servant!”
